A player can challenge another on over 20 custom maps and determine who is the supreme warlord. The multiplayer aspects of the game bring Warcraft to a new level of excitement. The player can command many unique armies and creatures including Knights, Archers, Clerics, Warlocks, Demons, Elementals, and The Dead. From swords to sorcery, all the elements of classic fantasy are here to explore: rich forests, dark dungeons, and bubbling swamps await the stalwart troops amassed to fight for dominance. īy playing either the Humans or the Orcs in this saga, two separate story lines evolve with 12 scenarios per side telling the tale of the battle for Azeroth. Set in the mythic kingdom of Azeroth, players are given the task of maintaining a thriving economy while building a war machine with which to destroy the enemy. As your score increases, so does your rank beyond certain thresholds.Warcraft has not only become a classic, winning many awards, but has also set new standards for multiplayer games. You gain 50 points at the end of each game, regardless of its outcome, and another 500 points if the outcome is victory. To display your current score and rank (as well as objectives) in the Mini Map window during a game, press F8. During a game you gain a point each time a Peasant or Peon returns goods to your Town Hall after harvesting Lumber or mining Gold, and you lose points when any of your units or structures are destroyed (although rebuilding can allow you to recover some). You start any Single Player campaign or custom game with 300 points and the rank of Peasant (Human) or Peon (Orc). Score and rank are for information only, since there's no high score table at the end of each game or campaign. While Human structures and Orc structures are identical or analogous in almost every way except appearance (the only other difference is that Human Stables are 3x3 while an Orc Kennel is 2x3), there's more variation between Human units and Orc units: Thus to play through the story in chronological order you should alternate between the two, starting with the Human Campaign. Although the Single Player Human and Orc Campaigns are separate, they intertwine chronologically: for example, in the second scenario of the Human Campaign, you prepare Grand Hamlet for an attack that occurs in the third scenario of the Orc Campaign in the seventh scenario of the Human Campaign, you respond to an attack on Sunnyglade that occurred in the sixth scenario of the Orc Campaign (Orc scenarios also tend to be (slightly) more difficult than their Human equivalents). ![]()
